WTC : Relentless Protagonist [SxS]

I spent a couple hours with WTC and found myself in unfamiliar territory - this is a narrative adventure dressed up as a simulation, not the spreadsheet-heavy affair I usually chase. You play Grendel Jinx navigating a school where people are dying and escape hinges on figuring out what's actually happening. The hook is solid: you're forced to work with a character you explicitly distrust, and that tension shapes how the story unfolds. Dialogue choices matter for your relationship dynamic, which affects later puzzle solving. What works is the mystery pacing and the way it leans into that cooperative mistrust angle. What doesn't: if you're expecting branching narrative complexity like a full CRPG, this is tighter and more linear than the ambition suggests. The simulation layer is light - think walking around, collecting clues, making dialogue calls rather than managing resources. Cloud saves and achievements are there for completion hunters. This is niche work from a small studio, and it knows it. Solid pick if you want 3-5 hours of mystery-box storytelling without expecting AAA production values.
