The hand-drawn world of Treflik City has genuine charm: little green Treflik residents, busy illustrated cityscapes, and a detective called Spy Guy chasing down criminals through scenes that feel like a lovingly crafted picture book. That craft on the visual side is not in question. The core loop is straightforward hidden-object: each level presents a section of a city map and asks you to locate a list of items tucked into the scenery. There are three modes to choose from. Basic gives you a timer that keeps running even after it expires, so you can still finish the scene without a hard stop. Challenge tightens the clock and will end a run if you run out of time, which suits players who want real pressure. Speedrun is exactly what it sounds like, aimed at players chasing personal bests. Three difficulty levels add a little more texture, and the Deluxe bundle packs in the base game alongside two extra maps covering a Fantasy setting and a USA board, bringing the total level count up to 120 animated scenes. Where things get genuinely frustrating is outside the art department. Critics and players alike have flagged clunky interaction in spots where multiple identical objects appear in a scene but only one registers as the correct target, which is the kind of pixel-hunting ambiguity that sours a session fast. Community feedback on Steam has also raised zoom and UI issues, with some players unable to dismiss opening dialogue boxes to start clicking at all. More damaging still is a near-total absence of music. For a game whose whole appeal is leisurely exploration of hand-illustrated maps, silence is a strange creative choice. A gentle ambient score would have carried this world a long way further. The board game version evidently had more personality in that department. Who is this actually for? Parents looking for a calm screen-time option for younger kids will find the cartoon aesthetic and forgiving Basic mode serviceable. Older hidden-object fans, particularly those who already own the physical Spy Guy board, might enjoy seeing these scenes animated. Solo adult players expecting the depth of something like Hidden City or even a mid-tier HOG from a dedicated studio will likely find it a bit thin. The setting is genuinely sweet, the 120-level count is generous on paper, and the three-mode structure shows the developers understood the genre's audience. But the technical shakiness and the hollow soundscape leave the whole package feeling like a mobile port that needed more time in the oven before landing on PC.
