C-3PO's red arm mystery finally gets the LEGO treatment, but this pack's short runtime and middling story make it a tough sell unless you're hunting 100% completion on the base game.

I went into The Phantom Limb Level Pack genuinely curious, because the question of how C-3PO ended up with a mismatched red arm is one of those small-screen Star Wars mysteries that felt like it deserved more than a throwaway comic. What I got was a single level that continues the story from the base game's "Trouble Over Taul" New Adventure, following C-3PO after a ship crash on a barren planet and tracing his path back to the Resistance. The premise is fine. The execution is thin. As a DLC level pack, this plays exactly like the parent game: two-character co-op puzzle solving, brick-smashing, minikit collecting (10 per level, as always), blaster battle segments that shift the camera over-the-shoulder, and multi-build objects where you pick what to construct from scattered LEGO parts. If the base game's blend of light action and gentle puzzles works for you, the formula here is identical. There is a Story Mode to complete first, which then unlocks Free Play so you can sweep up collectibles with any character in your roster. The pack also adds eight playable characters and a miniature vehicle, which pads the value somewhat for completionists who want every roster slot filled. The honest problem is that this is one of the most debated packs in the whole DLC lineup, and not for flattering reasons. Community reception landed at roughly 53% positive on Steam, which is a notable step below where most LEGO game content sits. The story itself is widely considered the weakest of the Force Awakens level packs despite being the most talked-about, and the canon source material (a single standalone comic) does not stretch comfortably into a satisfying playable arc. Playtime is short even by DLC standards, and the pack was originally a timed PlayStation exclusive before reaching PC, which contributed to pricing friction that frustrated players who expected it to follow the Season Pass discount. Worth noting: this pack is sold separately and was never part of the Season Pass, so you cannot bundle it into a cheaper deal that way. Who is this actually for? Completionists who need every trophy, every minikit, and every roster character to feel done with the base game. Households with younger kids who simply want more LEGO Star Wars time will get something out of it without minding the brevity. Anyone hoping for a meaningful narrative expansion or a mechanical surprise will walk away underwhelmed. The Phantom Limb answers its own question in the shortest possible way and then stops.
