Acerca de Fast Break
I picked up Fast Break expecting a retro curiosity, and that's exactly what it is. This is the original Accolade basketball game from 1989, ported forward to 2021 with minimal fanfare. You get 15 offensive and 5 defensive pro-style plays to call in real time, plus a play designer if you want to tinker with formations. The one-or-two player format means you can either control both teams or trade off with a friend. What kills it for a strategy-focused player like me: there's no season mode, no roster depth, no meaningful progression. The AI is basic, play execution is loose, and once you've cycled through the playbook a few times, there's little reason to stick around. It's a museum piece, not a game that respects your time investment. If you're curious about how basketball sims worked in 1989, it's a 15-minute novelty. Otherwise, skip it.
