If you ever wished Sea of Thieves would ditch the ocean and move somewhere hotter and crunchier, Sand: Raiders of Sophie might be exactly the fever dream you were waiting for. The game puts you behind the wheel of desert vehicles, sends you hunting for loot across sprawling dunes, and then lets other player crews roll up and start blasting you with cannons. It's chaotic, it's loud, and it wears its multiplayer-first DNA without any apology.
The catch? Flying solo here sounds genuinely punishing. Much like Sea of Thieves in its early days, Sand: Raiders of Sophie seems tuned around crew cooperation, which means lone wolves are probably going to spend a lot of time getting their sand-buggy turned into scrap metal by coordinated groups. If you have a regular squad to play with, the loop of cruising, looting, and getting into ridiculous vehicular cannon fights sounds like a great time. If you don't, you might want to wait and see how the solo experience shapes up before committing. Either way, the premise is wild enough to keep an eye on.
