Bloober Team Is Making a Star Trek Horror Game — GamerScout

Bloober Team just announced they're working on a Star Trek horror game, and honestly? That sentence alone is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The Polish studio has built its whole reputation on psychological horror, layers of dread, unreliable realities, atmosphere thick enough to chew, and now they're dropping all of that into the Star Trek universe. It's either a stroke of genius or the most chaotic pitch meeting in recent memory, and I genuinely cannot tell which.

Here's the thing though: it kind of makes sense when you think about it for more than five seconds. Deep space is terrifying. The franchise has always flirted with body horror, cosmic unknowns, and existential threat, it just usually wraps those ideas in a Starfleet uniform and resolves them before the credits roll. Bloober stripping away that comfort layer and letting the darkness actually breathe could produce something genuinely unsettling. The big questions are tone and canon respect. Trek fans are passionate and protective, and a horror lens that feels exploitative rather than exploratory will get eaten alive. But if Bloober commits fully to what they're good at and treats the IP as a playground rather than a cage, this could be one of the more surprising games to come out of 2026 or whenever it eventually lands.
