Neither car reinvents how the base game plays, but if you and your crew have already burned through the main roster in split-screen sessions, fresh cars do genuinely shake up the lineup rotation. For those who haven't played the base game, HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 - Turbocharged is an arcade racer built around absurd loop-the-loop tracks, boost management, and the very specific joy of tiny die-cast cars going absolutely unhinged speeds. The handling model sits comfortably between sim-lite and full arcade, which means a gamepad works great and you don't need a wheel setup to have a good time. That accessibility matters a lot when you're handing a controller to a friend who hasn't touched a racing game since Mario Kart. Split-screen is supported, which is the single most important feature for Saturday night sessions. As DLC go, Rust and Fast is a content-light drop. Two cars. That's the whole package. If you're a collector type who wants every vehicle in the garage, or you have a specific attachment to either the Mod Rod or FusionBusta from the physical toy line, this scratches that itch cleanly. If you're on the fence about whether two extra cars will meaningfully change your play sessions, the honest answer is: probably not on their own. The cars handle distinctly enough from each other and from the base roster to feel worth picking up when the price is right, but don't expect new tracks, modes, or anything that shifts the meta. Hardware note: full controller support is present, and the game plays well on both Xbox Series X and Xbox One. There's no wheel or pedal optimization in HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 in the way a proper sim racer would have, so don't expect force feedback magic here. Gamepad is the right tool for this one, and frankly it feels purpose-built for it. Shared and split-screen PvP remains intact with the DLC cars available to all players in a session who own the pack.
