Alpine Units is a cosmetic content pack for the World War One shooter Isonzo, developed and published by BlackMill Games. It does not add maps, weapons, game modes, or balance changes. What it does add is a focused set of visual customization options tied to winter mountain warfare aesthetics, which is exactly the niche it advertises. On the Italian side you get white winter camouflage uniforms suited to high-altitude snow operations. The Austro-Hungarian faction receives heavy greatcoats that read as period-accurate cold-weather field gear. Neither set is purely decorative in the sense of being anachronistic or fantastical - both reflect the brutal alpine campaign conditions that defined much of the Isonzo front. If historical authenticity in your loadout matters to you, these additions hold up. The facial customization options are the other half of the pack: five mustache and beard styles, three additional facial items, and one new face per faction. For a WWI simulation where close-quarters trench fighting puts your soldier's appearance front and center in third-person lobbies and killcams, these details do register. The mustache options in particular lean into the era's aesthetic in a way that feels appropriate rather than gimmicky. From a strategy-and-value standpoint, the honest assessment is straightforward. This pack offers no decision depth, no new systems to learn, and no effect on the meta. It is a cosmetic purchase evaluated purely on whether you want your alpine troops to look the part.
