The most loaded version of MK11 in one package: base game, all Kombat Pack DLC fighters, and the Aftermath story expansion with Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop. If you skipped MK11 entirely, this is the version to grab.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection is a 2D fighter from NetherRealm Studios that bundles the entire MK11 experience into one package. You get the base game, the original Kombat Pack with fighters like Spawn, The Joker, Nightwolf, Sindel, and the T-800 Terminator, plus the Aftermath expansion that adds a full cinematic story chapter and three new playable characters: Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop. If you have never touched MK11 before, this is genuinely the best way to jump in. The Aftermath story mode picks up immediately after MK11's ending, with Fire God Liu Kang enlisting some unlikely allies, including a scene-stealing Shang Tsung voiced by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, to recover Kronika's crown and control the flow of time. The campaign runs around three to four hours and functions as a proper sequel chapter rather than a throwaway bonus. Critics and players broadly praised the story quality while noting it is shorter than the base game's campaign, so go in with calibrated expectations. The new stages, Stage Fatalities for the whole roster, and Friendships (the MK2 comeback that lets you end a match by taking selfies or doing a BBQ instead of a Fatality) shipped as a free update for anyone who already owned MK11, which is worth knowing if you are buying this Kollection primarily for those features. The three new fighters each play very differently, which is where the real fun is for a couch session. Fujin is a high-mobility neutral specialist with sword and crossbow attacks layered on top of wind-powered movement tools, making him technical but rewarding once you put in the reps. Sheeva is the opposite: a heavy grappler with four arms, a defensive shield, and an unblockable teleport stomp that will absolutely ruin unprepared opponents. RoboCop is a pure zoner who keeps opponents at a distance using his Auto 9 pistol, flamethrower, riot shield, and a shoulder cannon that loads different ammo types. Peter Weller reprised his voice and likeness for the role, and the pre-fight banter with the rest of the roster is genuinely entertaining. As a casual party pick he is a bit awkward to use since zoning requires patience, but at a higher skill level he punishes recklessly aggressive players hard. For couch multiplayer, MK11 continues to support split-screen local versus, which means two people on the same screen is totally doable. The game's accessible casual modifiers and the wide roster variety make it friendly for mixed-skill groups. Where it gets a bit rough is the Towers of Time mode, which has a steep grind curve and consumable systems that can feel punishing for mid-tier players who just want to unlock cosmetics. The Klassic Tower mode is there if you want old-school arcade runs without the noise. Online competitive players benefit from a solid training mode with pre-built character setups to practice match-ups. One real-world note: MK11 had controversy around its post-launch Krypt grind and microtransaction cosmetics, and while the Aftermath Kollection does not introduce new monetisation, the unlock systems in the base game remain as time-consuming as ever. Bottom line: newcomers to MK11 get a lot of game here, with a stacked roster including top-tier guest characters from four different film franchises, a genuinely cinematic story arc with a solid ending, and three mechanically distinct DLC fighters. Returning players who already own most of this content have less reason to revisit. For everyone else, the split-screen versus mode, the wild character variety, and the frankly ridiculous fun of watching RoboCop perform a Friendship make this a solid pick for a fighting game night.
