So here's the thing about Xbox's showcase today - they actually brought the goods this time. Remember all those years we kept hearing "Xbox has no games"? Well, Microsoft just told everyone to sit down and shut up.
First up, Fable. Man, it's been way too long since we've had a proper Fable game, and from what they showed? This reboot looks like it gets what made the originals special. The British humor's intact, the world looks gorgeous on that Unreal Engine 5, and yes - you can still kick chickens. Some things never change. They're targeting holiday 2027, which honestly feels right. Give Playground Games the time they need to nail this.
But the real shocker? Game Freak - yeah, the Pokémon folks - just announced an Xbox exclusive. It's called Project Bloom, and it's nothing like Pokémon. Think more Monster Hunter meets Ori, with these bioluminescent creatures you befriend rather than capture. The art style alone had me picking my jaw up off the floor. Who had "Game Freak makes Xbox exclusive" on their 2026 bingo card? Nobody, that's who.
And Forza Horizon 6? Tokyo baby. Night racing through neon-lit streets, drifting past vending machines, the whole deal. Turn 10 showed actual gameplay and it runs at 60fps even on Series S. The car list already has over 500 rides confirmed, including that new electric Nissan GT-R everyone's been drooling over.
Microsoft really said "we're done playing around" with this showcase. Between these heavy hitters and the other stuff they teased, 2027's looking stacked for Xbox players.
