So here's something wild about the original Witcher that might make you appreciate the upcoming remake even more. The story lead from the first game just dropped a bomb about how they totally botched the ending cutscene. And honestly? It explains so much about why Witcher 2 took such a hard left turn into politics.

Remember that ending in the first game? Turns out the story team basically had nothing to do with it. Yeah, you heard that right. The people who crafted Geralt's entire journey through that game weren't even involved in wrapping it up. The lead straight up called it "a mistake," which is probably the understatement of 2026. I mean, imagine writing a whole book and then someone else writes your final chapter without asking you first. Wild, right?

This whole confession actually makes Witcher 2's obsession with kings and politics make way more sense now. They literally said that's "the whole reason" the sequel went that direction. It's like they were course-correcting so hard they steered right into a completely different genre. Not that I'm complaining - Witcher 2's political intrigue was fantastic. But knowing it came from them trying to fix their first game's fumble? That's some serious behind-the-scenes drama.

With the remake coming sometime in 2027 or later, I'm really curious if they'll fix this mess. They've got the chance to give us the ending the story team actually wanted. Plus with all the lessons learned from Witcher 3 and everything else CD Projekt's been through, this could be their redemption arc. Just please don't let the graphics team write the ending this time, okay?
