If you just discovered the Steam Controller 2 exists and rushed to reserve one, prepare for some bad news: the queue has grown so long that anyone jumping in now is looking at a 2027 fulfillment date. Valve has at least updated the reservation system to give people more honest shipping estimates rather than leaving everyone guessing, but "honest" and "encouraging" are two very different things here.
It's a wild situation when you think about it. Valve spent years in controller hardware purgatory after the original Steam Controller faded out, and now that they're back in the game the demand is completely outpacing what they can actually ship. If you're on the fence, the calculus is simple: reserve now and wait, or hope supply catches up before the hype does.
