RE Requiem lets you swap between scared Grace and badass Leon — GamerScout

Okay, this is pretty wild. The director of Resident Evil Requiem just dropped some interesting details about how the game's replay system works, and honestly? It sounds like they're doing something completely different from what we've seen before in the series.

So here's the deal: you've got two characters - Grace and Leon. Grace plays more like your traditional survival horror experience. You know the drill. Limited ammo, terrifying zombies, that whole "oh crap oh crap oh crap" feeling as you run through dark corridors. But then there's Leon, who's basically a one-man zombie wrecking crew. The director says you can literally switch to Leon when Grace's sections get too intense and just bulldoze through the enemies that were giving you nightmares five minutes ago.

What's really cool though? Your actions with one character affect the other's playthrough. The director mentioned that "the more you play, the more you discover how actions in one part affect the other." I'm guessing this means if Leon clears out certain areas or uses specific items, it changes things for Grace's run and vice versa. That's way more interesting than just replaying the same campaign with a rocket launcher.

This whole setup reminds me of those old school beat-em-ups where you'd tag in a fresh character when things got hairy. Except now it's "tag in the guy with military training when the zombies get too scary." Pretty genius move if you ask me. Gives hardcore players their challenge fix while letting newcomers actually finish the game without rage quitting.
