Okay ghost hunters, Kinetic Games just dropped a bombshell roadmap for Phasmophobia and honestly? This year is looking stacked. We're finally getting that 1.0 release everyone's been begging for since early access started way back when.

So here's what caught my eye. Three maps are coming our way - two reworked classics and one completely fresh location. They haven't spilled the beans on which maps are getting the makeover treatment, but I'm hoping it's Prison. That place desperately needs some love. The new map though? Total mystery. Maybe we'll finally get that hospital map the community keeps asking for.

But wait, there's more. Four seasonal events are planned throughout 2026, which should keep things spicy between major updates. Speaking of major updates, that player character overhaul sounds promising. Right now our ghost hunters look pretty basic, so any improvements there would be welcome. Plus they're moving to Unity 6, which should mean better performance all around.

The Nintendo Switch 2 port is happening too. I know some folks are worried about how a game this atmospheric will translate to Nintendo's hardware, but hey, if they pulled off Alien Isolation on the original Switch, anything's possible. Between this and all the other stuff planned, Kinetic Games is clearly going all-in on making 2026 the year Phasmophobia graduates from indie darling to full-fledged phenomenon.

Guess we'll have to wait and see which update drops first. My money's on one of those seasonal events hitting before anything else.
