So Peter Molyneux watched the new Fable reboot reveal and actually cried. Yeah, the guy who basically birthed the franchise back in 2004 got all misty-eyed seeing his creation live on. Can you blame him though?

During a recent interview, Molyneux dropped this gem: "F* me. This thing that we created, it's going to live, it's going to carry on." That's some raw emotion right there. After years of wondering if Microsoft would ever bring Fable back, seeing Playground Games take the reins in 2026 must've hit different for the man who started it all.

But here's where it gets interesting. While he was clearly moved by the whole thing, Molyneux wasn't totally sold on everything he saw. He mentioned there was a "slight antiseptic feel" to the presentation. Classic Molyneux, right? Even when he's emotional, he's gotta throw in some constructive criticism.

Look, I get what he means. The new Fable footage we've seen so far does have that super polished, almost too-perfect vibe that modern AAA games tend to have. Remember the rough edges and British humor of the original? That rawness was part of the charm. Still, seeing someone get that emotional over their legacy continuing? That's pretty special.

We're still waiting on a solid release date for the reboot, but knowing the original creator is watching with tears in his eyes? That's gotta mean something good's coming our way in 2027.
