So here's something wild - a Japanese RPG from the flip phone era is getting ported to modern consoles. Monstre Waltz, which originally came out in 2007, is heading to Nintendo Switch first, with a PC Steam release planned down the line.

This is honestly pretty cool for preservation reasons. Think about it - how many games from that weird pre-smartphone era just vanished forever? Those old flip phone games weren't exactly built to last. Most of them are basically lost media at this point. So seeing one get rescued and brought to modern platforms? That's a win in my book.

I'm curious what they're gonna do with the controls though. Those old mobile games were designed around number pads and tiny screens. Wonder if they'll keep it super faithful or give it a proper modern makeover. Either way, it's neat that younger gamers who never experienced that whole flip phone gaming scene will get to check out what we were playing back in 2007.

No word yet on when exactly we'll see this hit Switch or Steam, but I'll keep you posted. Anyone else remember playing games on their flip phones back in the day? Man, we've come a long way since then.
