So here's the thing - Nioh 3 is out. Right now. No massive marketing campaign, no six-month hype train, just BAM, here's your game. Team Ninja apparently decided February 2026 was the perfect time to drop their latest souls-like samurai adventure on us with zero warning.

The launch trailer's already racking up views and it looks absolutely wild. We're talking yokai battles that make the previous games look tame, combat that's somehow even more intricate, and what appears to be some kind of time-hopping mechanic? Hard to tell from the trailer but there's definitely some weird temporal stuff going on. Plus the graphics are insane - those particle effects when you transform are chef's kiss.

What really gets me is the timing though. We've been waiting since Rise of the Ronin for Team Ninja to return to the Nioh universe, and they pick the quietest gaming month to stealth drop this? Bold move. But hey, my weekend's sorted.

Steam's already showing mostly positive reviews from the early adopters. People are loving the new stance system and apparently there's a whole new weapon class involving chains? Sign me up. The real question is whether they fixed that endgame grind from Nioh 2. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

If you've been itching for more yokai-slaying action, your prayers have been answered. Nioh 3's available now on Steam, and knowing Team Ninja, console versions are probably right around the corner.
