So here's the thing about remakes - sometimes they're just cash grabs, but Dragon Quest VII's second remake? This one's looking pretty special. Square Enix dropped some fresh screenshots and Adventure Log videos today, and honestly, I'm getting those nostalgia vibes already.

The new preview videos (parts 2 and 3 if you're keeping track) show off what they're calling Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. And yeah, I know what you're thinking - another remake? But hear me out. The original DQ7 was this massive, sprawling RPG that took forever to get through. Like, we're talking 100+ hours easy. These new screenshots show they've really cleaned up the presentation while keeping that classic Dragon Quest charm intact.

What's catching my eye in these previews? The character models look way sharper than I expected. Plus they've streamlined some of those infamous early game sections that made the original such a slow burn. Remember spending three hours before your first battle? Yeah, hopefully that's fixed.

The remake hits next week, and I'm cautiously optimistic. Square's been on a roll with these Dragon Quest updates lately. Between this and all the other JRPGs dropping in early 2026, my backlog's already crying. But for real though - if you missed DQ7 the first time around, this might be your chance to experience one of the series' most ambitious entries without the PS1-era jank.

Anyone else planning to pick this up? Or are you waiting to see if they actually fixed those pacing issues? Drop a comment and let me know.
