So here's the thing about Code Vein 2 - it's finally happening. After what feels like forever since the first game dropped, we're getting our vampire-flavored Dark Souls fix tomorrow, January 30, 2026. And yeah, I'm already clearing my schedule.

For those who missed the original, Code Vein is basically what happens when you throw anime aesthetics into a souls-like blender and crank it to eleven. Think Dark Souls but with way more spiky hair and dramatic coat physics. The first one was honestly pretty solid despite some rough edges, and from what we've seen so far, the sequel looks like it's addressing most of those complaints.

But wait, when exactly can you jump in? Well, that depends on where you're parking your gaming chair. The game's doing a global simultaneous launch at midnight EST, which means West Coast players get to start at 9 PM on January 29. Lucky them, right? Europe's looking at 6 AM on January 30, while our friends in Japan and Australia won't get their hands on it until late afternoon their time.

Quick heads up though - if you're planning to play on PC, the preload went live yesterday. Console players, you're out of luck on that front. Just gotta wait it out like the rest of us mortals. The game's clocking in at around 65GB, so maybe start that download before bed if you haven't already.

Honestly? I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. The preview footage has been looking sharp, and they've apparently tweaked the companion AI to be less... well, less like they're actively trying to get themselves killed. We'll see if it lives up to the hype when servers go live tomorrow.
