So here's the thing about tonight's maintenance - if you're planning any late-night grinding sessions in Ashes of Creation, you might want to reschedule. Intrepid Studios is pulling the plug on all Alpha Two realms at 10PM Pacific tonight for what looks like a pretty standard update.
I know, I know. Sunday night maintenance? Really? But honestly, this is pretty typical for the alpha testing phase. They've been pushing updates fairly regularly since the persistent alpha kicked off a couple months back. The timing's actually not terrible when you think about it - most of the East Coast crowd will already be in bed by 1AM their time anyway.
What's coming in this update? Well, the announcement doesn't say much beyond the downtime notice. Classic Intrepid, keeping us in the dark until patch notes drop. Could be bug fixes, could be new content, could be server optimizations. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.
If you're like me and you've been grinding those artisan skills all weekend, make sure you finish up whatever you're working on before 10PM hits. Nothing worse than being mid-craft when the servers go down. Trust me on that one - learned it the hard way last month.
No word yet on how long servers will be down, but based on previous updates, we're probably looking at anywhere from 2-6 hours. So maybe catch up on some sleep or, you know, touch grass for a bit. The realms will be back before you know it.
